6 months now married... and happier than ever!

Dave and I were talking just yesterday about how we have already been married for 6 months, yet it feels like we have been married for a very long time - we are 'old and experienced' now. Must have something to do with how long we have actually known each other. But, we did it! And are just as happy as we were as when we were first married. Happy 6 months, David!
Things are going pretty good, at least for me, now that I am out of school for the summer and feel as if I have way too much time to try and fill (I have turned to doing some yard work in the mornings to pass the time...). But this sudden freedom will not last long as I will be back in school as soon as Fall semester begins - however I try not to think about that at this point.
Dave, on the other hand, has been struggling with the (swine?) flu over the past few days. Coughing, sneezing, fever, headaches, he has the works - poor guy. I've been trying to keep him comfortable but there is only so much that you can do. Looking on the bright side, I think things are looking up since he is feeling a little better every day. Apart from his illness, he is doing great - happy and full of fun as he always is.
We just got back from an AWESOME rafting trip over the weekend with the family. Here are a few pics to give you an idea of what happened for those who weren't there - lots of fun and lots of cold water!
We hadn't even started our trip and Preston was already armed and ready!

One fun thing about this year is that Lora and Kimball's kids were old enough to man their own raft so we had "The Cool Raft", and then the kids' raft. :)

Me and my cute husband!

Having fun and full of smiles! Dad was a good sport and definitely picked the most water-fights out of anyone in the group.

Austin fulfilled the role of the raft's motor, and Tori's scream would alert all the fishermen/rafts that we were on our way - both are always lots of fun to have along!

Last, but not least, Kimball and Lora in their sweet shades! Unfortunately Kimball's were claimed by the river only moments later...

P.S. Thanks to these two who planed the trip - you guys are awesome and always make things fun and memorable. Thank you, thank you!

Hope you are all doing well. We hope you have a safe 4th of July weekend!

  1. Nice post Julie. Thanks for the update. I'm sad we missed the outing. Looks like it was a lot of fun. It was nice to read your thoughts about David. It's a good sign when you can say you're as happy or happier than the day you were married. That's a great goal to have. Take care. Chris.
