Dave and I got together with a young couple in our ward to go to the Alpine Rodeo this weekend. We made a night of it and had the couple, plus another friend and young daughter, over for tacos, and then we headed to the rodeo to meet up with the rest of our group.
It was a very small rodeo and you could tell that it was low budget since the half-time show guest did almost the same routine 3 times during the rodeo... but it was still fun to go. It was a different rodeo than what we have ever been to because all they had were bull riders! Big excitement with every rider. However, it seemed as if some of the bulls were the old 'retired' bulls since some would stop bucking mid-ride, lay down (with the rider on back), or just struggled keeping up the energy that you would normally expect. But again, lots of fun. The rodeo was held right up against the side of the mountain ranges so we had a beautiful view of the valley and it was a beautiful night to be outside.
Once the rodeo had finished, there were fireworks that we went to that night to finish off the night with a 'bang'. Here are a few pictures to share the excitement!
